An evening with GOTO10 live sets, hosted and organized by Folly and part of Folly’s three-day Summer School of Sound.
With “d0->d1->d2->d3->d4″ Claude Heiland-Allen (GB) is exploring the higher dimensions of a robotic and raw techno music. Piloting an audiovisual object with scrambled spatial references, Claude operates with the aid of a simple softsynth drumbox and complex computations. With all these ingredients, he is taking the audience inside a virtual machine where he is orchestrating an improbable dance of simple geometrical shapes moving along grinding beats and hypnotic melodies. In “d_u_w”, Marloes de Valk (NL) is telling us the playful story of digital micro-organisms. Starting from a single seed, these strange and simple beings propagate very quickly to fill the whole space in which they multiply. They play their own score of “clicks” and small sounds that sparkle and move across evolving constructions and musical modulations. “d_u_w” is a hybrid creation between biology and electronic music.
0xA is a project of Chun Lee (TW) and Aymeric Mansoux (F). Using virtual instruments and their own algorithmic processes, they sculpt sound in real-time, looking for new electronic spectra and waveforms. The performance sends the audience in oniric spaces filled with languorous basslines and unstoppable electronica, cut here and there with inventive and drastic ambient/noise improvisations. 0xA also plans to make you fall on your feet.
